No Regrets

No Regrets... Ever

He asked if I would have any regrets if we made love
I answered with a question of my own
Regrets?
Kissing, hugging, sleeping next to you
Having you between my legs
Eating, drinking, licking me
Having you in my mouth
Tasting, licking, drinking you,
Being between your legs,
While you're in my sanctum, on my back, from the back?
Never baby, ever.

And then we made love for the next fifty years.

We all should be so blessed... to find someone whom we can love and enjoy making love to for the rest of our lives. Just the other day, a friend and I were discussing our "regrets" about sex. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about because most of us have had at least one sexual experience that we'd like to forget. Some of us have had many, too many, but we won't go there. Call me old-fashioned, but I still admire those couples whose pictures appear in Jet magazine every week with the caption, "Married 50 years." I think it's sweet and I hope and pray between caring for their babies, attending PTA meetings and church services, going on family vacations and to family reunions, and paying mortgages, car notes and tuition, at least half of those years were spent swinging from the chandeliers and making sweet, unregretful, unforgettable love.

Reminds me of a poem I wrote about sex.

That was also your comment for my last entry. Anyway, this poem and entry are about enjoying sex with someone you love for a really long time :-). Don't you just hate waking up after a night of sex, rolling over and staring at the recent object of your affection and thinking, "Damn, wonder how long this is going to last." I think some of us are so sexually "free" that the act becomes just that-- an act, not genuine. We've turned sex into a past time like watching t.v. or going bowling, making it no longer the meaningful and spiritual (and physical) connection that I believe it was intended to be. In that sense, we're no better than animals just doing it to fulfill our physical desires at the moment.

I've never had that problem. Whether I was just fulfilling a physical desire or not.

And for the record both entries reminded me of a poem I wrote about sex. Though not necessarily the same one.

Oh no? Good for you. :-) As far as this entry and the last one reminding you of poems that you've written about sex, maybe we think alike. Is that a good thing? *shrugs shoulders*

I particularly love this poem because of the audience it's meant to captivate: LOVERS! This question only applies to lovers. How many times have you had meaningless sex that you've actually cared if the other party regretted it or not? As long as you got yours what difference did it make. On the other hand, love for somebody is never meaningless. Regardless of the fact they you don't know how long it's going to last, the sexual feeling you get from somebody you love is unmeasurable. Hummmm..... I'm feeling you B.W. Regret like yours, I'll take everytime:-)
